 (Lilium philadelphicum)western wood lily

Native to the prairies, the bright orange flowers of the western wood lily can be found in moist meadows and semi-wooded areas but are rarely seen in cultivation.  Flowers are large and showy, up to 8 cm long with bright orange-red petals with black spots and are borne on delicate stalks that are 15-50 cm tall.  The western wood lily is closely related to the provincial flower of Saskatchewan, the western red lily.

We preserve the western wood lilies growing in nature by propagating our own by tissue culture in our lab, and not by digging them from fields.

Plant some of these prairie heritage plants and create your own naturalization project!

Available as 1-2 cm bulbs.
